“Nurturing Spirit, Developing Knowledge, Realising Potential”
Peter for his amazing maths work.
Henry M, Rory and Noah for their amazing writing
As a school we remain committed to safeguarding our pupils and to make you aware of new developments around social media. On this occasion, I am writing to advise you of a new ‘App’ which we have been made aware of called, ‘Monkey’.
In essence it’s being described as app that enables you to have Face-time with random strangers.
Once you register for the Monkey App, you verify your phone number, age, Snapchat name and whether you are male or female – it then asks you to allow access to your contacts
Once this is done, ‘Monkey’ will try to connect you with people from across the world of a similar age.
Once connected both users have to ‘add time’ to continue with the Face-time, otherwise the chat will disconnect.
When Face-time has been enabled there’s an option on-screen to add the person as a friend on Snapchat.
It’s rated as being suitable for over 12’s.
Please can you continue to monitor your daughter/son’s internet and social media usage.
